Teaching different ages

Everyone learns differently, but age groups can present similarities

Children

Children learn through games and fun. They have great potential and thrive when they are exposed to different activities throughout the lesson, The method I use stimulates their natural ear, helps strengthen their little fingers, and encourages creativity. Progressively, they learn how to play with different rhythms, how to read notes on the staff and play expressively.

Teen agers

Teenagers already have musical tastes and usually have already been exposed to music at school or have played other instruments. Learning is quicker and they can enjoy playing their favourite pieces. They have a lot of emotions to express and music is a good way to let them go.

Adults

Adults approaching piano for the first time are usually very motivated. Sometimes it is their dream and for one reason or another, they didn't have the possibility to study music. But it is never too late! Learning music, especially piano, keeps the brain working at many levels. Musical taste is certainly very definite now, so we can choose repertoire accordingly.
